Today the Catholic Church celebrates the memory of Saint Firmin of Amiens, a bishop and martyr who lived in the 3rd century. Originally from Spain, Firmin responded to the evangelical call with extraordinary zeal, traveling as far as northern Gaul to announce the Good News. His preaching was characterized by tireless apostolic fervor, which led him to convert thousands of people and challenge the roots of local paganism. His indomitable courage, however, did not take long to attract the wrath of the Roman authorities. Arrested by order of the governor, Firmin chose the path of martyrdom rather than renouncing Christ, facing beheading in prison. His testimony of faith continues to shine as a milestone in the Christianization of France, reminding every believer of the transformative power of the Gospel and the supreme value of Christian witness.
