Animated by untiring zeal, Gaspar lived in an era of great political and social turmoil. During the Napoleonic occupation, his loyalty to the Pope cost him dearly: for having refused the oath imposed by the usurper, he suffered long years of imprisonment and exile, facing the ordeal with unwavering spiritual fortitude. Once free, he poured all his energy into founding the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, placing devotion to the redeeming blood of Christ at the center of his spirituality. But his work was also an immense social contribution: defying danger, Gaspar was able to venture into the countryside of the Papal States to meet, pacify, and evangelize entire bands of brigands who were terrorizing the populations. He transformed violence into brotherhood, demonstrating how the Gospel can regenerate even the most hardened hearts. Today, his example resonates as an invitation to rediscover the power of reconciliation and the primacy of God in history.\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
