Prayer to Saint John the Baptist for the conversion of sinners

O glorious Saint John the Baptist, forerunner of the Lord and martyr for the truth,
you who dedicated your life to preparing the ways of the Messiah by calling hearts to penance,
turn your compassionate gaze toward us, poor sinners in need of mercy.
You, who baptized the crowds in the Jordan inviting them to a sincere change of life,
intercede with the Most High so that the ray of His light may penetrate our darkened consciences.
Obtain for us, O great Saint, the grace of deep repentance, the courage to renounce evil,
and the strength to walk with righteousness the path that leads to Christ, the Lamb of God.
May your voice, still powerful in the desert of our times, shake hardened hearts

The figure of Saint John the Baptist holds a unique place of prominence in Catholic iconography and theology. Defined by Jesus Himself as the greatest among those born of women, the Baptist is the archetype of the prophet who prepares the way.
